A Flora of the Camas Prairie Region

Description

Originally written as Sr. Alfreda’s master’s thesis at the University of Idaho in 1939, this plant classification guide was revised and expanded in 1966 for her high school students at St. Gertrude’s Academy. The book opens with the words, “How Do I Begin?” before guiding readers through the native plants and roots of the Camas Prairie. Though Sr. Alfreda noted that a high school course offers only an elementary introduction, she believed learning to identify and classify plants yields a lifetime of discovery and enjoyment.

This volume is a printed copy of her 1966 book and includes a replica of her signature.
